---++ !!Biowall Weave %TOC% --- ---++++ Dodecahedron Weave - description *"A Synetic building is an airy and lace-like basketry of thin arcs patterned in curvilinear triangulation. Bows of springy material are attached in tangency to one another in such a way that the tendency of arcs to spring outward is symmetrically restrained by the like tendency of other arcs. Synetic frames self-‘inflate'."* *By Rick Flowerday* see also ([[SyneticStructures][Synetic Structures]]) Our weave is based on a dodecahedron. 12 rods are bent into circles and woven together to make the basic building block/bubbles. Six such bubbles are woven into a closed ring pattern described by *Sándor Kabai* at the following links. When we assembled our first weave we slightly simplified the geometry by pulling the small gap in the top anf bottom of the hexagonal repeat together. The dodecahedron is slighlty stretched to make up a more regular pattern. * http://kabai.hu/ * http://kabai.hu/lesson/A/imagepages/image2.htm * http://www.geocities.com/symmetrion/isa/contents/2000-1-4.html * *Dodecahedron* * http://members.aol.com/dodecahdrn/Dodecahedron.html * http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Dodecahedron.html --- ---++++ Dodecahedron Weave - Renderings --- ---++++ Related information 3d weaving to create an all space filling tile based on the structure of bubbles, first developed for an exhibition in Vienna please see; * Loop.ChloroPhyll http://closed.loop.ph/twiki/pub/Loop/ChloroPhyll/Green-weave05.jpg http://closed.loop.ph/twiki/pub/Loop/ChloroPhyll/Green-weave02.jpg http://open.loop.ph/twiki/pub/Openloop/BioWall/plant.jpg http://open.loop.ph/twiki/pub/Openloop/BioWall/weave.jpg above: woven fibres (1mm) to create a 3d structure on a much smaller scale than in Vienna
