Project Description

Sonumbra is commissioned by Sunderland City Council for the SHINE Festival 2006. Sonumbra is a temporary interactive installation in Mowbray park. This play space maps people’s movement and translates it into a unique environment of light and sound.

Umbrella structure

The umbrella structure we are using is supplied by MDT-Tex.
It is a TYPE-E Tulip umbrella in an octagonal shape with 5m diameter.

Umbrella foundations

The foundation for the umbrella requires a ground shell (supplied by MDT-Tex) to be cast into a concrete block with the dimensions 600 x 600 x 600mm. The concrete needs to be type C20 or C25.

The concrete block needs to be removed at the end of the project presentation.

The foundation should be cast on or shortly before the 27th of November 2006.
